Things to do in Pitlochry

A little Victorian Town in Highland Perthshire known for its stunning scenery and its relaxing surroundings...

1. Visit Blair Castle and walk into the history of the Dukes and Earls of Athol.

Blair Castle is home of the Athol family.

The castle carries over 700 years of history which is on display in the 30 rooms that make up the building.

It has a vast collection of armoury from swords, guns and other weapons and other interesting displays of artwork.

Tip: Watch out for the piper at the main entrance and take some time enjoying his music prior to entering the castle. The castle is surrounded with a beautiful garden.

There's a souvenir shop and cafe too for a quick bite after your tour.

You may consider wandering around the garden and you might be lucky to spot some animal wildlife like a deer or a peacock. Allow for at least 2 hours when visiting the unique castle.

2. Take a sip of the famous Scottish whisky at Blair Athols' Distillery .

Blair Athols' distillery stands as one of Scotlands' oldest working distilleries.

Tip: Consider this as a stop-over when you're on a road trip in Pitlochry. Not only will you be educated with the age old whisky-making process but you'll get the chance to taste one of the finest ones in Scotland and in all of UK.

The staff in the distillery are very accommodating and their service is very good so do get to try their winning whisky recipes. Or better yet, get some bottles home.
