Walk thru the Labyrinth and visit the Palace of Knossos
This place comes in second as the most visit archaeological site in all of Greece.
It's built by the Minoan civilisation circa 4000 years ago ruled by King Minos. It is also home to the half-man and half-bull Minotaur.
Tip: The palace is a sprawling open-air complex of the ruins of the first civilisation in all of Europe.
Ensure that you wear comfortable shoes and clothing as there's a bit of a walk as you go around the area where you'll find a labyrinth.
While parts of it is getting reconstructed, we suggest you get a good tour guide unless you already know good aspects of the Greek civilisation.
Explore the city centre
Take a walking tour around the city and explore the city's rich history.
Tip: Have a relaxing walk around town and you'll come across popular tourist spots like the Agios Titus Church (which houses the skull relic of St. Titus), Venetian Loggia (perhaps the finest monument of Venetian Crete), Agios Minas Cathedral (which is dedicated to the patron saint of Crete), to name a few.
Don't forget to indulge in the mediterranean diet which Cretans take pride as one of the healthiest diets in the world. Try Souvlaki dipped with tzatziki sauce.
